How to dress as a preschool teacher?

I have to do a presentation on the job i wanna be when im older im in eight grade and i want to be a preschool teacher. half of my grade is for the information and then the other is on the appropriate attire and props. So what props and clothes should i wear? I can only have two or tree props.

She said clothes cant be jeans or sweats unless you can justify why it should be(like radio host or trainer) and that nurses would wear scrubs my baby brothers preschool wears scrubs a lot but I'm not sure. So please help with that.

Then she said we could have a few props i thought maybe a baby doll or something but i don't have any and don't know what other props i could bring.

Then i need to know what kind of information should i include? I already have salary, environment, how much you work. But i think i should include more because its a two minute speech.

So i really need the help with clothes and props but information could help.

Dress nice but casual. (Nice pants, nice blouse, sweater, or top.) Preschool teachers spend a lot of time on the floor, running around outside, and doing active music and movement activities. You want to be comfortable but completely covered. No extra skin showing, no tight-fitting or revealing clothes, comfortable shoes such as good sturdy athletic shoes, minimal jewelry (earrings should be just simple posts, nothing big or dangly, and no necklaces or bracelets, a watch is ok). Hair should be simple. If your hair is long, pull it back or braid it, and wear little or no make-up. A preschool teacher wants to appear clean-cut and conservative, but not too dressy to play and interact with the children. Props: hmmmm. I think you should choose a good story book geared for 3-5 year old children. A rhyming book would be a good choice. Maybe your school librarian would have a suggestion, or if your school has some early childhood classes the teacher would have some good ideas. A hand puppet that coordinates with the book would be a good addition. I use a lot of music in my classroom, so perhaps a cd wallet with some children's music in it would be a good prop. Another good prop might be a water bottle! I ALWAYS have my water bottle with me, and my students know what it is and that it's mine! Or if you want to add a touch of humor and realism, carry an envelope full of coupons. This is not a high-paying field, and you could include some comments about how you plan to become good at conservative spending: using coupons and sale flyers as part of your basic living plan, to make this a position you can live on! (The more I think about it, the more I think this last comment is a great idea. Your teacher will be impressed that you have given some thought to the fact that this is not a high-paying field.)

As part of your presentation you can talk about your attire: no dangly earrings or necklaces because small children may grab or pull on them and that would not be safe for the teacher. Hair pulled back for the same reason. Pants to make it easier to get down on the floor and interact with the children. Part of the job is getting down to their level to establish eye contact and improve communication. Athletic shoes because you will be on your feet and moving most of the time. You need your feet to be comfortable and you need good traction for moving quickly. No tight fitting or revealing clothing because parents will expect you to present a polished, professional, conservative image to them and their children. If you plan to use a book as a prop, you can explain how young children learn basic literacy skills just from being read to. These basic skills include knowledge of concepts of print, ie groups of letters form words, print (in English) flows from top to bottom and left to right, print carries the message, etc.

Your biggest worry with the 2 minute time limit will be keeping it to only 2 minutes! You could probably fill up half an hour with even just limited knowledge of what preschool teachers do! If you need some ideas or help with an outline for your speech, send me a message through my YA profile. I would be happy to help if you need it!
